This is a very smooth operating reel. I have fished once with it as I just recieved it so I can not talk long term on the reel, but my first fihing trip with it was all stars. It cast great and rells the fish right in, as I said it is really smooth. I think before I take it out again I am going to clean and oil it up and see how it does after that, I bet it will be EVEN better.

Great reel!

Things to mention about this reel. 1. Don’t use braided line. It’s not going to work.. just as it doesn’t work on any other spincaster. 2. Don’t use the garbage red cajun line that comes on it. Use some quality Stren mono line. 3. Note it’s slow gear ratio.. It’s great for using slower crank baits and spinners. 4. Great construction and value. Don’t pass this up if you need a great spincast reel!

Anyone thinks they are taking this reel from me better think again. Love the smooth cast, awesome 10 lb red line (haven’t lost a fish yet) and the choice of handles to choose from is a sweet feature. I took the chance and put the bucks out there for this one and I’m NOT disappointed one bit. I hope they continue producing this model for future fishermen and women.
Yes, I am a woman who loves to fish and can say that I have out fished my husband and his buddy on many occasions, maybe due in part to this reel. They don’t mind, as long as we’re catching fish!!!!!
